Frequently asked questions.
How buying and selling work, and what this website does and doesn’t do.
What is Board Game Bazaar?
A community marketplace for second-hand board games in the UAE. Anyone can list the games they want to sell, and buyers message them to arrange the deal in person. It grew out of the Board Game Bazaar community event and is run by Agnes, a private individual. It is not a shop or a business.
Who owns the games listed here?
Every game belongs to the seller it is listed under. Board Game Bazaar does not own, store or hold any of the games.
Can I buy a game on this website?
No. There is no checkout, cart or payment on this site. If you are interested in a game, tap WhatsApp on the copy to message the seller, agree where to meet, look at the game and make the deal with them directly.
How do I pay?
Payment is arranged between you and the seller when you meet. Board Game Bazaar never handles money and takes no part in the sale.
Can a game be reserved for me or delivered?
Not through the site. A seller may mark a copy as “Reserved” for their own reasons; that is a note from the seller, not a booking made through the site. Any delivery or collection is your own arrangement with the seller.
How do I stay safe when meeting a seller?
Meet in a busy public place, during the day if you can. Look the game over before you pay, and don’t send money in advance to someone you haven’t met. If a listing or a person seems wrong, use “Report” on the copy and tell us at [email protected].
Are prices fixed?
Prices shown are the sellers’ asking prices. They are set by each seller and may change, and you can talk to the seller about the price.
What do the crossed-out prices and percentages mean?
For many games we show the average price from online retailers, so you can compare. It is for information only: it is approximate, may be out of date, and is not an offer from anyone. The percentage shows how the seller’s asking price compares with that average.
What if a game is incomplete or damaged?
Check the game before you pay: open the box and look at the components. Games are second-hand and sold as seen. There are no warranties, refunds or returns through Board Game Bazaar; any agreement about this is between you and the seller.
Is the information on the site always accurate?
Sellers keep their own listings up to date, but a game may sell, change price or no longer be available. Treat the site as a guide and confirm with the seller.
How do I sell my games?
Create an account, confirm your email, choose a username and add your WhatsApp number. Then go to Your listings, search for a game and set its price and condition. You can add up to 5 photos per copy and have up to 50 games listed at once. Mark copies reserved or sold as things change. You stay responsible for your own games and sales.
What is my username for?
It’s the name buyers see next to your games instead of your real name, and the address of your seller page (bgbazaar.ae/sellers/your-username). You can change it on Your profile. A username you give up stays reserved for you, so nobody else can take over links you shared.
Why do I need a WhatsApp number to sell?
It’s how buyers reach you about your games. Your number isn’t shown on the site; a buyer only sees it when they tap the WhatsApp button and a chat opens. While you have games listed, WhatsApp contact stays on.
Why confirm my email?
We send a confirmation link when you sign up with an email and password. You can browse and save games straight away, but you need to confirm it before listing games. It also lets you reset your password. Google and Apple sign-ins are already confirmed.
I signed in with Apple and my games are missing
If you chose “Hide My Email”, Apple gives us a private address instead of your real one, so a separate, new account is created. Log out and log in with the email you used before to get back to your games; you can delete the empty account from its profile.
I sold at the Bazaar event: where are my games?
Games from the event tables were moved to the seller account linked to each table. Copies with no way to reach the seller were taken off the site but kept: add your WhatsApp number, then put them back from the Removed tab in Your listings. If something looks wrong, email [email protected].
Will I be told about price drops?
Yes, in the Board Game Bazaar phone app. Save games to My List, turn on notifications on Your profile, and the app tells you when a saved game gets cheaper or a saved copy is reserved or sold. On the website, the Price drops page shows every recent drop.
Can I use dark mode?
Yes. Use the moon next to Profile at the top of the page, or Dark mode in the menu on a phone. Until you choose, the site follows your device’s light or dark setting, and your choice is remembered on that device.
What are game requests?
Requests show which games people would like to find, so sellers know what is wanted. With notifications on in the Board Game Bazaar phone app, you’re told when a game you requested is listed. A request is only a show of interest, not an order or a reservation.
How do I contact you or delete my account?
Email [email protected] with questions or problems. To delete your account, log in and go to Your profile → Delete account (how it works).
